17 Day Diet recipes

Four 17-day cycles make up the 17 Day Diet, which can be repeated as necessary until weight loss goals are reached. The cycles are as follows:

  • Cycle 1 (Accelerate) – This phase cuts calories to just 1,200 calories per day, which is a good amount for a weight loss program. The early phase works primarily as a colon cleanse, with the elimination of unhealthy carbs and the ramping up of the metabolism. Although the program promises weight loss of up to 10-15 pounds during this cycle, the weight loss may be mostly water weight that is regained when carbohydrate consumption is resumed.
  • Cycle 2 (Activate) – The next 17 days is about continuing the weight loss momentum with slightly higher-calorie recipes that incorporate more carbohydrates while reducing fat. Daily caloric intake is around 1,500 calories.
  • Cycle 3 (Achieve) – These 17 days are still in the weight loss portion of the program, but maintenance begins with the reintroduction of certain foods and lifestyle changes that dieters can take with them over the long haul.
  • Cycle 4 (Arrive) – Once weight loss goals are met, this portion of the program focuses on weight maintenance, with the option to return to cycles two and three if weight gain becomes a problem once again.
